Seasonal Availability

• Summer (June 1 – September 1-15): Vatnskot and the Leirar campgrounds are open with full amenities, including electricity and service huts.
• Autumn (mid-September to November): Vatnskot closes; only Nyrðri-Leirar remains open.
• Winter (December – May): Camping is limited to Nyrðri-Leirar near the service center; Vatnskot remains closed.

Facilities & Policies

• Service huts at Nyrðri-Leirar and Syðri-Leirar include toilets, laundry, outdoor cooking sinks, and a brick grilling oven; showers are included in the camping price
• No advance reservations—campers simply arrive, find a spot, and pay at the service center during opening hours or in the morning if arriving late.
• Service center hours: Summer: 08:00–18:00; Winter: 09:00–17:00.
• Quiet hours, with evening monitoring in summer to ensure peace after 23:00
