Flúðir Campsite is nestled by the banks of the Litla-Laxá river, in the lush village of Flúðir—about 100 km from Reykjavík—an area fondly known as “the food chest of Iceland” due to its vibrant vegetable cultivation.

The campsite is well-equipped with service buildings housing showers, toilets, a washing machine, and a tumble dryer, along with a small on-site store selling essentials like ice cream and camping supplies‍. Guests can also enjoy free Wi-Fi, running water, electricity, and a large outdoor barbecue area. Families with children will appreciate the playground, and the center also provides camping guides and brochures.

Within walking distance is the village center with a grocery store, restaurants, a bar, swimming pool, and a sports area. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy horse rental, golf, fishing, river rafting, riverjet adventures, and even the Slakki zoo in Laugarás.‍. Guided hikes exploring the area's hidden gems are offered during summer.

Rules & Practical Info

The campsite operates May through September, with availability every day and on-call night service when needed. Pricing is per person, per day, and paid upon arrival:

• Adults: 2,200 ISK (1,800 ISK if staying 3 nights or more)
• Children 10–16: 1,500 ISK (1,200 ISK long stay)
• Under 10: Free
• Retirees & disabled: 1,750 ISK (1,500 ISK long stay)
  There’s also a 7-night offer: 7,500 ISK per adult and 5,000 ISK per child 10–16.
  Additional services: Electricity is 1,000 ISK/day; Wi-Fi is free; washer or dryer costs 600 ISK per use.

Rules prohibit vehicular traffic between 23:00 and 09:00 and forbid public drunkenness. The campsite expects respect for nature, and parents must supervise children in the playground. Camp staff are available to assist with queries.
