Accessible via the gravel road 214, the journey to Þakgil offers travelers a scenic drive through Iceland's diverse landscapes. The campsite is open seasonally from June 1 to September 15, providing a tranquil retreat surrounded by towering moss-covered cliffs and the serene Mýrdalsjökull glacier.
