Stykkishólmur Campsite

Stykkishólmur Campsite (Tjaldsvæði Stykkishólmur) is a town campground in Stykkishólmur on the northern side of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. It’s located next to the Víkurvöllur golf course and within walking distance of local services including the swimming pool, supermarket, restaurants, and other amenities.

Facilities

The campsite offers a good range of practical services for a summer stay:

• Toilets and washbasins with hot and cold water in multiple locations around the site.
• Outdoor hot water showers free for campers.
• Electricity hookups at several points (may carry an extra charge).
• Washing machine and dryer available near the clubhouse/tourist information (extra charge).
• Wi‑Fi hotspot across the campground.
• Waste disposal station and toilet waste emptying.

The reception and payment are handled at the golf club clubhouse, which also provides a common kitchen/lounge area for campers.

Location & Surroundings

Stykkishólmur Campsite is centrally placed so you can easily walk to the town centre, nearby swimming pool and hot tubs, cafés, shops and cultural attractions.  The setting beside the golf course and open field offers scenic views and plenty of space for tents and camper vans.

The site is usually open during the Icelandic camping season (around mid‑May to mid‑September), providing a convenient base for exploring the Snæfellsnes peninsula and nearby coastal scenery.
