Sturlungalaug

Snæfellsnes

OBTENIR L'ITINÉRAIRE

Sturlungalaug is a hidden geothermal pool nestled in a vast grassy field, surrounded by towering lava fields and majestic mountains. The journey to the hot spring involves a bumpy gravel road, and there are no signs leading directly to the spot. Once you arrive, you’ll find a pool with a temperature of around 40°C, large enough to accommodate 8-10 people. The pool measures approximately 3 by 7 meters in size, with mud at the bottom, giving the water a murky appearance.

Located in the western part of Iceland, on the way to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, this secluded hot spring offers a peaceful escape from the crowded and well-known hot springs. Sturlungalaug consists of two side-by-side pools: a larger one and a smaller one. While the pool may not be as clear or well-maintained as others, the experience of having it all to yourself, surrounded by nature, offers a unique and authentic adventure.
