OBTENIR L'ITINÉRAIRE
Laugarás Lagoon is a new geothermal spa and wellness destination in South Iceland, located in the village of Laugarás along the banks of the Hvítá River on the famous Golden Circle route. It officially opened in 2025 and is designed to blend with the natural landscape while offering a relaxing geothermal bathing experience close to major attractions like Geysir and Gullfoss waterfall.
The lagoon’s central feature is a multi‑level geothermal pool with water heated to around 38–40 °C, fed by locally sourced geothermal energy with glacial water cooling and filtration.
Laugarás Lagoon offers changing rooms, showers, and lockers, with some ticket options including towel use and personal amenities. The facility is wheelchair accessible with accessible changing rooms and lifts. Children aged 8 and older are permitted when accompanied by an adult.
On‑site Ylja Restaurant serves seasonal Icelandic cuisine using locally sourced ingredients, making the lagoon a well‑rounded wellness stop on a Golden Circle day trip.
Located about 94 km from Reykjavík, it’s reachable by car or as part of many Golden Circle tours, and welcomes visitors year‑round with seasonal operating hours.
Laugarás Lagoon provides a scenic, modern alternative to other Icelandic geothermal spas, offering a blend of natural beauty, relaxation, and comfort in a quieter setting along one of Iceland’s most popular travel routes.
