F208 North, also known as Fjallabaksleið Nyrðri North, is the more accessible half of the F208 Highland route. It connects the southern end of F26 (Sprengisandsleið) with Landmannalaugar (F224), Iceland’s crown jewel of geothermal beauty.

Road Conditions
This section is considered easier than its southern counterpart. While still a mountain road, no river crossings and milder terrain, making it more manageable for confident drivers with 4x4 vehicles. Expect gravel, potholes, uneven terrain, narrow lanes, and steep drop-offs. Despite being less technical, always check road.is for current conditions.
