Hverinn Campsite

Hverinn Campsite is a well-established camping ground located in Kleppjárnsreykir, in the Borgarfjörður region of West Iceland, along Route 50 about 25 minutes’ drive from Borgarnes. It’s part of the Hverinn travel service, which also includes a restaurant and accommodation, making it a practical stop on routes into the interior or toward Húsafell.

The campsite offers a range of reliable services for campers:

• Around 80–150 spaces suitable for tents, trailers, and RVs, with electricity plugs available at many pitches.
• Toilets, hot and cold water, and showers in service buildings.
• Washing machine and dryer available on site.
• Playground and outdoor recreation space.
• Waste disposal for mobile homes.

Guests pay on arrival at the campsite and advance online booking is not typically available.

The site sits in a calm, shrub-lined setting with walking paths and open areas for outdoor activity.  A local swimming pool and hot tub are about 150 m away, and a restaurant, shop, and playground facilities make it family-friendly.
